Biosciences Licenses Protein Lounge Signal Transduction Pathways
for Use in Their Marketing.
SAN
DIEGO, CA, May 31, 2004 – Protein Lounge, a
leader is systems biology databases and bioinformatics tools,
today announced that EMD Biosciences has agreed to take a
non-exculsive license of some of Protein Lounge’s signal
transduction pathway images.
Under
the terms of the agreement EMD Biosciences will have a non-exculsive
license for one-year to use 13 of Protein Lounge’s signal
transduction pathway images. EMD will use these pathways in
their web-based and printed marketing. EMD believes that the
addition of these signal transduction pathways to their marketing
will attract additional attention to their reagents made against
the proteins of those pathways.
Protein
Lounge has licensed the following pathways to EMD:
1. Alzheimer's Disease Pathway
2. GSK3 Signaling
3. Caspase Cascade
4. Akt Signaling
5. Mitochondrial Apoptosis Pathway
6. p53 Signaling
7. DNA Repair Mechanisms
8. Cytokine network
9. MAPK Family Pathway
10. GPCR Pathway
11. NFKB Family Pathway
12. VEGF Pathway
13. Insulin Pathway
Protein Lounge has hundreds of additional signal transduction
and metabolic pathways which are also available for license.

Protein
Lounge Overview: www.proteinlounge.com
Protein Lounge is a leader in the field of system biology.
We have developed many interactive web-based databases and
software to help the life-scientists understand the complexity
of systems biology. Systems biology efforts focus on understanding
cellular networks, protein interactions involved in cell signaling,
mechanisms of cell survival and apoptosis leading to development
or identification of drug candidates against a variety of
diseases. In the post-genomic era, one of the major concerns
for life-science researchers is the organization of gene/protein
data. Protein Lounge has met this concern by organizing all
necessary data about genes/proteins into one portal.
