Corp Licenses Protein Lounge’s Easy siRNA Tool.
SAN
DIEGO, CA, Feb 17, 2004 – Protein Lounge announced
today that Imgenex, Corp. has agreed to take a non-exclusive
multi-year license of Protein Lounge’s proprietary siRNA
target finder tool, called Easy siRNA.
Easy
siRNA combines the Tuschl method of siRNA prediction and Protein
Lounge’s proprietary method of siRNA spacing, which
avoids any overlapping regions to only show you siRNA targets
which are well spaced to improve gene silencing.
Imgenex
plans to use the Easy siRNA tool on their site in conjunction
with siRNA reagents. Researchers will be able to find the
targets using Easy siRNA and then they can order the actual
siRNA-vector from Imgenex.
Imgenex,
Corp Overview: www.imgenex.com
Imgenex Corp. develops and commercializes novel reagents for
the scientific study of human biology and disease and for
the production of new diagnostic assays and potential therapies
of such diseases. These novel reagents include antibodies,
gene and protein expression systems, and arrays of various
cells and tissues for use in studies of functional genomics.
Areas of biological interest at IMGENEX include cancer, apoptosis
(programmed cell death), molecular signaling pathways, cellular
aging, and metabolic and infectious diseases.
Protein
Lounge Overview: www.proteinlounge.com
Protein Lounge is a leader in the field of system biology.
We have developed many interactive web-based databases and
software to help the life-scientists understand the complexity
of systems biology. Systems biology efforts focus on understanding
cellular networks, protein interactions involved in cell signaling,
mechanisms of cell survival and apoptosis leading to development
or identification of drug candidates against a variety of
diseases. In the post-genomic era, one of the major concerns
for life-science researchers is the organization of gene/protein
data. Protein Lounge has met this concern by organizing all
necessary data about genes/proteins into one portal.
